Solitary Expression of CD7 Among T-cell Antigens in Acute Myeloid Leukemia: Rearrangements and Course of Disease Suggestive of Poor Prognosis Identification of a Group of Patients With Similar T-cell Receptor

چکیده
In a series of 100 acute myeloid leukemia (AML) patients defined by cytochemistry and immunophenotyping, 20 expressed T-lymphocyte associated antigens on the surface of their blasts. While 15 expressed two or more T-cell antigens, five were found to express only CD7. All patients belonged to the French-American-British type M4, and four were under the age of 40. Despite intensive chemotherapy, four never obtained a complete remission and the f i ih died of relapse after an allogenic bone marrow transplantation. While 12 randomly selected T-cell antigen negative AML patients

متن کاملSignificance of Cross Lineage Antigen Expression in Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia
Background: Aberrant expression of cross-lineage antigens gives valuable insight into the diagnosis and prognosis of acute leukemia. In countries like India, cytogenetic tests are widely accessible. Exploring the prognostic value of an accessible test is of great importance. Therefore, establishing a population-specific immunophenotype database will enable to design an antibody panel equipped t...

Expression of cell surface molecules associated with lymphoid and myeloid lineage differentiation on the blasts of 53 patients with acute lymphoblastic leukemia (ALL) was investigated. 1.9% of cases were only HLA"7DR+ 7.6% were HLA-DR+, CDI9+ 22.6% were HLA-DR+, CDI9+, CDI0+ 30.2% were HLADR+, CDI9+, CDlO±, CD20+ and 37.7% were HLA-DR±, CD7+, CD5±. Aberrant expression of one or more myeloi...
متن کاملDiversity of T-cell receptor Gene Rearrangements in South Indian Patients with Common Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia
Background: Precursor B-Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia (precursor B-ALL) oc-curs due to the uncontrolled proliferation of B-lymphoid precursors arrested at a par-ticular stage of B-cell development. Precursor-B-ALL is classified mainly into pro-B-ALL, common-ALL and pre-B-ALL. The Common Acute Lymphoblastic Antigen CD10 is the marker for common-ALL. Objective: This study was aimed to examine the ...
متن کاملCharacterization of Immunophenotypic Aberrancies in Adult and Childhood Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia: Lessons from Regional Variation
Background & Objective: Although the antigen expression patterns of acute lymphoblastic leukemia (ALL) are well known, this study attempted to evaluate commonly used immune markers for immunophenotyping of acute leukemia to set the minimum of necessary diagnostic panels by flow cytometry. Methods: This study evaluated 89 patients referred from all over th...
